She is perhaps one of the few Bharatanatyam dancers with no worry about audiences for her classical dance presentations. In the jam-packed auditorium of Chennai Music Academy, Shobana’s breezy performance began with a welcoming number in Sanskrit, composed by Patanjali, and went on with many exciting numbers like the Ashtapathi, Achuthya Ashtakam, Sufi, Vivaldi and Bach. She collaborated with great instrumentalists like Anil Srinivasan (grand piano), Vijay Ghate (tabla), Kyun Woo Chung (Western violin) and Sanjay Das (guitar). This was a fundraising show organised by B Force, a charitable trust that aims to provide medical assistance to the Tamil Nadu police force with a focus in the field of cancer management.
